Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's first fight of 2024 is almost here and it has the potential to be an exciting one.
Fighting on Cinco De Mayo weekend, Alvarez will be defending all four of his super middleweight titles against fellow Mexican Jaime Munguia on May 4 in a fight which can be seen live on DAZN PPV.
Munguia has cemented himself as one of boxing's hardest punchers and he has finally got his wish to face one of the world's best pound-for-pound fighters.
As a result of Munguia's punching power, some experts within the sport believe that he could create a number of problems for Alvarez, including former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew who made his prediction for the contest.
"It’s exciting, Munguia throws a lot of punches, is very busy, he’s been super active," Bellew told The DAZN Boxing Show.
"I think this is a very hard fight for Canelo, I do think Canelo wins because he’s the better boxer of the two.
"His all-round general IQ, ring ship will see him through, but he’ll come through a few touchy moments.
"I think Munguia will really put it on him, give him a few smacks around the ears and get stuck right in, but ultimately, I think we’ll see Canelo ride out a points victory."
