Terence Crawford is not thinking about Canelo Alvarez as he gets ready to make his 154lbs debut against Israil Madrimov this summer.
Brian McIntyre has been Crawford’s trainer for a long time and he’s insistent that his fighter is not looking past his next opponent on August 3.
Since defeating Errol Spence last year to become undisputed welterweight champion, Crawford has constantly been linked to a showdown with Camelo.
It’s still very much possible the bout occurs at some point, but for now, Crawford has his hands full with Madrimov.
“I think it’s just one fight at a time right now. The fight that is in front of Bud, that’s what he’s concentrating on,” said McIntyre when speaking to Fight Hub TV.
“Bud ain’t never looked past an opponent. He never takes an opponent lightly so right now his focus is on Madrimov, because this fight is dangerous.”
