Canelo vs. Bivol is not a matter of size, says Eddy ReynosoDAZN
The differences in build and size between Canelo and Dmitry Bivol is not something that has Canelo's team worried.
LAS VEGAS — Canelo Alvarez's record against bigger and heavier fighters is extensive, especially since he moved up to the super middleweight division. However, now that he has ventured to step up to 175 pounds, the fact that he has an advantage in terms of size, reach, or weight is not something that has his team worried.

"We have always had taller boxers since he debuted," said Eddy Reynoso, Canelo Alvarez's trainer since he was an amateur fighter, in a conversation with the media on Wednesday that included DAZN. "It was always challenges with him because he is a short fighter, but he sees how far he has come with his build that he has known how to use it. On Saturday, he will have to do the same, what he has done all his career."

This weekend at T-Mobile Arena, Canelo will challenge Dmitry Bivol for the WBA (super) light heavyweight championship in a bout that will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN (check your region on how you can watch).

In the wake of his return to Las Vegas for the 15th fight of his career, Alvarez's team has looked back with nostalgia to what was their first presentation in "Sin City" when they faced Miguel Cotto's brother, Jose, in 2010.

"That occasion, we fought in one situation, and now we come in a very different one," said the two-time BWAA trainer of the year. "We are very happy for what we have achieved, but it doesn't stop here. We will continue growing and adding achievements because there are still many goals, such as returning to Mexico and presenting ourselves to our people in Guadalajara."

For Team Canelo, this whole atmosphere is much more enjoyable.

"With Bivol, it's continuing to write his history, continuing to make a legacy, a dangerous fight," said co-trainer Chepo Reynoso, who rejoined Canelo's corner after a health crisis. A lot of people don't see it that way. Bivol, I think when he goes up to fight, he is going to go up at 185 pounds because he is a tall fighter, he is a fighter who has a lot of box to keep the tonnage, besides many people don't see, he is an undefeated fighter, he is a world champion fighter, he is a fighter who knows what a victory over Saul means. There are many arguments that make Bivol look dangerous."
