Carl Froch’s record is filled with some of the biggest names boxing has to offer including Andre Ward, Mikkel Kessler and Jermain Taylor.

The Nottingham man earned widespread plaudits for facing the best opposition available but ‘The Cobra’ has revealed the one fighter he wishes he could've fought, and it’s a boxer from an era before Froch burst onto the scene.

Although he had a huge desire to face Joe Calzaghe at some point, it’s not the unbeaten Welshman who is Froch’s dream opponent.

That honour goes to Marvin Hagler, the legendary southpaw who enjoyed an incredible run at middleweight and who shared the ring with the likes of Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Thomas Hearns.

“Mine is the late ‘Marvellous’ Marvin Hagler,” said Froch when discussing the subject on Talksport Boxing

“He’d have probably done me as well. Maybe, maybe not. He was a middleweight who come up. I think he was a bit smaller than me, height-wise.”
