Joshua is back this week.

Carl Froch has had plenty to say about Anthony Joshua’s upcoming fight with Francis Ngannou, but he’s insistent that another fighter has already taken the British fighter’s soul.

Joshua meets Ngannou this Friday, live on DAZN PPV, and victory could open the door for a world title shot at some stage in 2024.

Joshua has rebounded brilliantly in the last year following a difficult period that saw him endure losses to Andy Ruiz and Oleksandr Usyk.

Against Ruiz in 2019, Joshua was beaten for the first time in his career before avenging the loss later on that same year.

Froch, a former world champion himself, believes the Ruiz defeat has had an impact on Joshua.

“Francis Ngannou has really brought it to the press conference, and he has said recently that he is going to take Anthony Joshua’s soul,” said Froch when speaking on his Froch on Fighting YouTube channel

“Too late. Ruiz has already took it. That is a bit of a tongue in cheek dig, but he has. Anthony Joshua knows, when he gets hit, he gets hurt and Ngannou is saying all of the right things to get inside of AJ’s head.”
