Joe Joyce made a winning return earlier this month when he stopped Kash Ali in the final moments of a frustrating fight.
The 2016 Olympian didn't look like he had made many adjustments since losing twice to Zhilei Zhang last year and his performance has been assessed by Carl Froch.
At the start of 2023, Joyce appeared to be the heavyweight with the most momentum after capturing the WBO interim crown with a fine stoppage win over Joseph Parker.
Two losses to Zhang put Joyce down the rankings and although he won against Ali to instil some confidence, Froch believes that Joyce should consider retirement.
“I think he struggled, He won, he was busy like he usually is, but he took too many punches on the chin,” said Froch on his own YouTube channel.
“And we saw it, when he stepped up to the world level, Zhilei Zhang done him twice and that second with was a bad knockout out.
“Joe Joyce showed me that he probably should think about hanging his gloves up.”
