Carl Froch names two fighters including Manny Pacquiao who he thinks could 'whoop' Conor McGregor

Former world champion Carl Froch believes that both he and Manny Pacquiao would have little trouble defeating Conor McGregor in the boxing ring.

Froch occasionally threatens a comeback against various fighters, such as Jake Paul, and he has now added McGregor to that list. 

McGregor may be back in the UFC after a three year absence to take on Michael Chandler, but no date has been set by Dana White, with his most recent update suggesting it would not take place at this summer’s UFC 300.

One more name who is in the frame to fight the Irishman is 45-year-old Pacquiao, who is said to be considering a return to professional boxing after several years in politics and exhibition action.

Speaking to Grosvenor Casinos, Froch warned McGregor to know his limits.

He said: “I think he needs to stick to 14oz gloves and exhibition fights with someone like me, The Cobra, because he'd probably get more fun out of that, preparing for me would more fun than being dragged to floor and tied up in knots by Michael Chandler, who might not be the best in the world, but is still active.

“What I'm saying is, he's better off having a bit of fun with some big gloves, but it would be short and sharp with me, I'd end it quickly for him. In a boxing ring I don't think he'd be a threat to me.” 

He added: “McGregor was calling out Pacquiao but that's not competitive because we saw how crap McGregor was against Mayweather, absolute dog*****. F***ing useless. 

“He wants to stay as far away from a professional boxing ring as he can and he won't make a fool of himself. We all know Manny has enough about him to open a full can of whoop as on Conor McGregor.”
