Caroline Dubois lays out world title plans for 2023

Caroline Dubois lays out world title plans for 2023DAZN

Caroline Dubois is hoping to challege for a world title by the end of this year.

Since turning professional in 2022, Dubois has won all six of her fights as a pro, with five of those coming by way of knockout, and will be hoping to produce similar performances this year as she looks to push for a world title shot.

"Hopefully by the end of this year I'll be in major contention, fighting for a world title," Dubois told BBC London.

"That's what I'm pushing for. I want every fight to be a step up and something I can learn from and if not (this year) be in major contention to fight for one next year.

"We had a slight setback in the first fight but I want to keep pushing and push as hard as I can."

Her trainer Shane McGuigan was full of praise when it came to the 22-year-old's boxing talent and also believes that Dubois is not far away from a world title challenger.

"She's got great reflexes, balance and she possesses a lot of power," McGuigan said.

"We're three or four fights away from fighting for a world title.

"That's the standard that I think she should be setting."
