For Chantelle Cameron, her first world title challenge had controversy before the first bell after her opponent, Adriana dos Santos Araujo, failed to make weight, meaning that the vacant WBC women's world super lightweight would only be on the line for Cameron.

The fight, which took place at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, saw Cameron use her jab to set-up powerful combinations which was a pattern repeated throughout the 10 rounds.

Cameron's dominance was reflected on the judges' scorecards with all three scoring the fight 100-90 and saw the Northampton fighter crowned the WBC women's world super lightweight champion.

On the undercard of Dmitry Bivol vs. Gilberto Ramirez, WBC and IBF women's super lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron looked to become the undisputed title holder against the accomplished Jessica McCaskill.

With McCaskill the undisputed champion at welterweight, many expected it to be a tough test for Cameron, but what transpired was the complete opposite.

Sticking to a well thought out gameplan, Cameron once more used her jab to set up combinations and comfortably set the tempo for the fight.

McCaskill started to find her range in round five, but it was too little, too late for the American with Cameron winning the fight via unanimous decision.

This performance saw the 31-year-old crowned the undisputed champion at super lightweight and become the first British woman to achieve this feat.

Arriving in Dublin, Ireland, to defend her undisputed super lightweight title against Katie Taylor, there was a feeling that Chantelle Cameron may not be able to cope with the hostile atmosphere in the 3Arena.

However, in the build-up to her showdown with Taylor, the reigning champion was adamant that she could get the win on enemy territory and on what was a historic night for Irish boxing, she did exactly that.

In what was a thrilling fight, Cameron got the respect of Taylor early with a number of heavy shots. But as the contest progressed and the pro-Taylor crowd getting louder, it was clear that Cameron would have weather the storm against an opponent who knew they needed to dominate the latter stages to get the decision.

But while Taylor increased her work rate inside the ring, it wasn't enough with Cameron being awarded the win via a majority decision in what is the biggest win of her career so far.
