Chantelle Cameron's trainer claims one person was responsible for Katie Taylor loss

Jamie Moore was not pleased with a certain person inside the ring on Saturday night.

Following Chantelle Cameron's loss to Katie Taylor in their rematch on Saturday night, the former's trainer Jamie Moore has criticised referee Roberto Ramirez Jr. for failing to pick up on what he perceived was prolonged holding.

Cameron and Taylor went head-to-head once more for the undisputed women's super lightweight title in Dublin, and this time around it was Taylor who got her hand raised after being declared the winner on two of the three judges' scorecards.

As expected, emotions were raw in Cameron's dressing room after losing what was another close and thrilling encounter, but Moore was quick to point out the issues he had with the officiating.

"She’s obviously devastated, you can imagine,” Moore told BBC 5 Live Boxing.

“She just feels like this whole scenario, everything was set up for her to lose. We were sort of determined to prove everyone wrong, similar to what we did last time. But she got away with holding last time. I’m not saying—first of all, I just wanna say, for what I was actually watching, it was a close fight, it could have gone either way.

"We were denied a knockdown in the first round, which should have been. 100% legitimate knockdown. I begged the referee in the changing room before the fight, please last time, she got away with holding a lot. My fighter’s best work is up close. Please don’t let her hold the way she did last time this time. And he allowed her to go on worse this time than it was last time."

With the rivalry standing at one win apiece, a trilogy fight between Taylor and Cameron could be on the cards in 2024 with Croke Park being touted as a potential venue.
