Chris Eubank Jr wore a beaming smile when Billy Joe Saunders was topped by Canelo Alvarez earlier this month.
Rivals since their domestic grudge match back in 2014, Eubank Jr and Saunders have consistently taken swipes at each other and that continued during the build-up to Canelo vs. Saunders as the Brighton man staked £10,000 on the Mexican to stop Saunders.
Eubank Jr, who has long expressed his desire to take on Canelo, was in confident mood on the week of the fight as he placed his betting slip on his social media channels for all to see.
Despite a spirited effort from Saunders, Canelo took over in round number eight and after causing damage to the Brit’s right eye, the fight was stopped by Saunders’ corner.
Taking to his Instagram account today, Eubank Jr posted an image that saw him handing his winnings over to the RockingHorse Children’s charity, who will use Eubank Jr’s generous donation to purchase new equipment.
The Sussex based organisation assist in helping sick children and Eubank took great pleasure in being able to support them.
