The Briton has aspirations to be seen as the flagbearer for the sport at home and abroad.

Chris Eubank Jr. believes he can become the face of British boxing if he delivers in his next few bouts, as discussions over a fight with Canelo Alavarez continue to gain traction.

The Briton secured a comfortable victory over Kamil Szeremeta in October after he scored a seventh-round knockout in his first fight for over a year in Saudi Arabia.

That has opened the door to some great potential fights next year, including a clash with Mexican star Canelo, or a grudge battle with Conor Benn if the latter's suspension is lifted.

With that, Eubank Jr. believes his star could be on the rise, and he has now claimed he could become the flagbearer for the sport at home despite his lower weight division.

"It is hard to compete with heavyweights," he told Sky Sports. "They have famously been the pinnacle.

"In [Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury] you have two successful guys and huge characters. But they have kind of had their time.

"If I do what I am supposed to do and what I am capable of in these next few fights, I absolutely believe there is a strong chance I could become the face of British boxing."

Eubank Jr. certainly appears poised for an exciting 2025, especially if either of his chosen bouts come to fruition, with Canelo riding high off his own victory.

The Mexican defeated Edgar Berlanga in Las Vegas earlier this year to move to a 62-2-2 professional record, one of the most celebrated in the sport's history.
