Claressa Shields: Jake Paul owes me an apologyDAZN
The world champion spoke to The DAZN Boxing Show about the YouTuber.

Claressa Shields wants a full apology from Jake Paul for his trolling on Twitter.

Paul is promoting Amanda Serrano’s upcoming fight with Katie Taylor on April 30th at Madison Square Garden which is exclusively live on DAZN. His Most Valuable Promotions outfit has received praise for its treatment of women so far, but world champion Shields has misgivings.

“I love Amanda Serrano, the fact that he’s helping her, helps him be more likeable to me,” she began on a special International Women's Day episode of The DAZN Boxing Show

“You can’t jump on the internet talking about me losing an MMA split decision, but not ever say congrats on winning your boxing matches in the sport you ‘ve been doing 15, 16 years.

“He needs to, one, apologise for disrespecting me and two, give me respect. Because I am head honcho, I am leading the way, I am a trailblazer.

“He kinda apologised and wants to work together, but an apology is an apology.

“You can’t be like, ‘I’m an advocate for women’s boxing and then s— on me. It doesn’t go together. You want to be there and support all the girls who are working their way up. I try to support everybody.

“Yes he’s pushing Amanda Serrano, but he needs to push other women too.”
