Claressa Shields is making her final preparations to face Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse for the WBC women's heavyweight title next month, live on DAZN, but the self-proclaimed "GWOAT" also has her eyes on another big name in combat sports.

Shields addressed the ongoing rumours of a boxing match between herself and MMA legend Cris Cyborg, with Cyborg stating last week that "the money has to be right" for a bout between the two fighters to happen.

Launching a verbal tirade back at her potential rival, Shields told VegasInsider.com that Cyborg has no intention of actually stepping into the ring with her, and that the current Bellator women's featherweight champion is just riding Shields' coattails for publicity.

"Cris Cyborg is s—t. And you can put that there," Shields said. "She does not want to fight against me in a boxing match.

"She's using my name for headlines. I had a five-million-dollar deal with the people from Saudi Arabia for me and her to fight, and she turned it down.

"She would have gotten a few million and I would have gotten a few million. She turned it down. All because she said, 'I want to fight at 147 [lbs]', and when I told her that the weight class is 154."

Not one to lack in confidence, the 29-year-old Shields dismissed Cyborg, who is 10 years her senior, as "nothing but a damn clout chaser" who needs to hang up the gloves.

"Cris Cyborg just needs to stop now," Shields said. "That's an old lady right there, who needs to retire, and find her something to do with her life.

"That's what she needs to do. She needs to retire. Stick to MMA. In boxing, I will wash her!"

And if the two sides could actually agree to a fight? Shields predicts only one outcome.

"If Cris Cyborg fights me at 154 lbs, we can make the fight happen," she said. "I don't know what she's crying about.

"Fight me at 154. I’m going to dog walk her like I do everybody else."
