Claressa Shields is promising an emphatic victory when she finally gets in the ring with Savannah Marshall this Saturday.

The bitter rivals were set to face each other last month but their eagerly anticipated was postponed at the last minute following the death of Queen Elizabeth II that brought sport to a standstill in Britain.

With the new date for this weekend now confirmed, Shields is still displaying huge confidence as she prepares to head into battle.

The Michigan fighter has hardly lost a round as a professional and although she holds wins over some excellent fighters, Marshall is likely to be her hardest test. Shields is in a positive mood ahead of her biggest night as a professional.

"The postponement was like a blessing in disguise,” said Shields when speaking to Sky Sports.

“The goal is even bigger now, from September to now.

“I knew I was going to beat Savannah Marshall on September 10, but now I really feel in my spirit that I am going to knock Savannah Marshall out, this is going to be my statement fight.

"She talked all that stuff about pillow fists, but she's not going to stand there and fight me. She's not going to be able to handle my shots. She can't outbox me. She's not very skilled."
