The duality of Deontay Wilder is on full display this week as he prepares to fight Zhilei Zhang in the main event of Saturday's Queensberry vs. Matchroom event, live worldwide on DAZN.
Wilder is coming off three losses over his last four fights, including a unanimous decision defeat to Joseph Parker in December. His recent history has prompted him to put retirement on the table should he lose to Zhang this weekend.
However, Wilder is also confident that he's done enough in training to come out on top against Zhang, so much so that he's already targeting a former opponent for a future fight.
Speaking to Sportsbook Review, Wilder named the man he has failed to defeat in three previous tries, former WBC champion Tyson Fury, as someone he wants to run it back with again.
“I want to make Tyson Fury pay so bad, so bad," he said. "I don't think that chapter is over with.
"I could see a fourth fight. I could see a fourth in the making, created by the creators.
"The Saudis have the source and the power to make it all happen. I want to get it back so bad.”
Not only is the "Bronze Bomber" eager to step into the ring with Fury for a fourth time, he also believes he can claim the belt that Fury lost earlier this month to Oleksandr Usyk — as well as all of Usyk's other titles.
“I'm looking forward to working with the Saudis for a long time, even when I regain the titles," Wilder said. "I truly believe that I will be the undisputed champion and hold all those belts.”
