The two Britons have been linked with a fight despite the weight difference.

Conor Benn reacted to Chris Eubank Jr.’s win over Liam Williams by suggesting the pair could meet in a fight.

Eubank defeated Williams as he sent the Welshman to the canvas four times in a win he set up early in the bout before coasting to victory in Cardiff.

The 32-year-old Englishman is ranked at No. 1 by the WBA and has been calling for a fight with IBF champion Gennadiy Golovkin, amongst others.

Benn meanwhile wishes to fight for a world title of his own, and is expected to fight this April, potentially against Adrien Broner.

While Eubank fights at 160lbs and did not enjoy the move up to super middle, Benn is a welterweight, with a cutoff 13lbs lighter.

Speaking on Twitter after Saturday’s fight, 25-year-old Benn that that ‘I fancy my chances’ at a catchweight, suggesting the pair could meet in the middle.

The fight would recall the two clashes between the pair’s fathers, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank Sr.
