The British welterweight feels ready for anyone.

Conor Benn admitted he would fight Yordenis Ugas, Chris Eubank Jr. or even Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez if he was offered the chance.

The 25-year-old Briton is hoping to move to a world title fight in due course, but for now he appears likely to follow up his 2021 demolition of former world champion Chris Algieri with a fight against Chris van Heerden.

Talking to IFL TV, Benn said he would use the Van Heerden fight to improve, but he also believes he is now ready to fight for a world title.

“Each fight, I’ll learn and improve. I’m ready for them now. I would have those fights now. If you presented Ugas to me now, I’d take that fight.”

Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn explained his fighter’s mindset.

“Conor’s a fighter,” he said.

“Chris Eubank, he’d probably fight him at 160lbs. They’re at very different stages of their career. Conor Benn is an up and coming fighter challenging for a world title. Eubank is in the last stages of his career.

“That’s normally the kind of fight when you want a proper payday.

“When you’re chasing a title at 147 you don’t want to make a fight like that, get beat, and all of the sudden derail the dream.

“We’re also up for discussing that fight, because it’s a huge fight, but we don’t want to agree to a fight at 156, fight a guy who’s going to rehydrate to 175, lose, and then we’re derailed on what the plan is. The plan is going beautifully.”

Benn then asked Hearn why he thought he might lose to the middleweight.

“You’re at a total disadvantage, you’re a 147lbs welterweight, you want to go up to 157 or 158 to fight a middleweight,” he exclaimed.

“You’d fight anyone, you’d fight Canelo. I think it's a fascinating fight, but there are some sensible heads on.

"But Conor Benn is getting bigger and bigger. But don’t f— it up and do something stupid for the money, becaue the money’s coming, it’s there already. Conor is feisty and wants to fight everyone.”
