Conor Benn has heaped praise on Terence Crawford in the aftermath of his win over Errol Spence last month.
Crawford dominated his long-time rival before halting the bout in the fight’s ninth session and the victory has prompted many within the sport to label the Nebraska man boxing’s best fighter.
Benn, who holds aspirations to reach the top of the 147lbs division currently dominated by Crawford, is full of admiration for his fellow welterweight.
Plotting his next move following a lengthy absence following an adverse finding in his drug test last year, Benn is eager to reach the levels occupied by Crawford and he’s paid tribute to the American following his most recent success.
“I ain’t watched it yet but I’ve seen the highlights. They looked good, they looked sharp,” said Benn when speaking with IFLTV.
“You’ve got to say Crawford is a bit of an alien. He’s just a powerful fighter. He’s accurate. His timing is bang on. He’s just a good fighter. Across the board, I would probably say he is pound-for-pound [number one].”
