Conor Benn named the two fighters he wants after his upcoming fight against Peter Dobson.
Benn fought just once last year, when he defeated Rodolfo Orozco in Florida back in September, his first action since he beat Chris van Heerden in April 2021.
During that gap he missed out on a fight with Chris Eubank Jr., which seems no closer to being rearranged as Eubank looks for his next fight following his rematch win over Liam Smith.
Eubank has his next fight, live on DAZN, when he returns to the United States for his February 3 clash against Dobson.
If he wins he can set his sights on a higher profile match-up, and speaking to IFL TV he was asked about who he would like in the remainder of 2024, and he named Mario Barrios and Devin Haney, explaining that Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis looked unlikely to take any fight.
He said: “I’d probably go Barrios [the WBC interim welterweight champion] and then [WBC super lightweight champion] Haney, you got [Boots] Ennis as well but his dad, who’s his mouthpiece said he’s not interested in the fight, so it’s mad because you’ve got me calling the guys and they’re saying they don’t want to fight.
“Whoever, I mean that, I was willing to go up to 160, I’ll fight any man at 147. I'm confident in my mindset and my ability. I’ll beat any man.”
