Conor Benn ready to step up and calls out Adrien Broner for summer fightDAZN
Conor Benn has been in sensational form recently and his improvements have seen him make some noise at 147lbs.

Conor Benn was mightily impressive when obliterating Samuel Vargas in the opening session last month. The Canadian veteran was expected to give Benn a stern test, but the Essex fighter wasted no time in sending out a message to the remaining fighters at 147lbs.

With the domestic scene at welterweight heating up, a number of options are available for Benn when he makes his return to the ring, which is likely to be this summer. That hasn’t stopped the confident fighter from setting his sights on bigger targets and that includes former four-weight world champion, Adrien Broner.

"July 31, July 21, whatever, whatever the day is, those are the dates I am hearing, anyone can get it, I ain't really fussed," said Benn when speaking to IFL TV. "I actually want to step up this time, whether it’s stateside or here, wherever.

"I’m ready whenever man, whoever. I see some of the yanks calling my name now. I’ll happily go over there and beat them in their back garden," he added. "I’ll go fight Adrian Granados in his hometown in Mexico. I’ll go fight [Adrien] Broner in Vegas. Whoever they put in front of me will get the work, ultimately."

As well as identifying Broner as an immediate target, Benn has made it clear that he will take on any challenge in his weight class. His recent win over Vargas was a triumph that has elevated Benn’s profile and he now feels he’s at a point where he can ush on towards the highest level.

"I’m feeling strong at the minute, I'm feeling really strong. It don't really bother me. I'll fight any of these names. I don’t even know if Broner is ranked, but you know, he’s campaigning at 147, and I’ll welcome him to the division nicely.

“Based on his last performance at 147 [against Jovanie Santiago], I fancy my chances of getting him out of there."
