The DAZN Boxing Show discussed the possibility of a Jon Jones vs. Tyson Fury two-fight deal.

The WBC champion and the UFC fighter have been exchanging barbs for some time, with figures from both sports backing different favourites depending on the style of fight.

Recalling the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor extravaganza in 2017 that was a pay-per-view blockbuster, Akin Reyes believed that a boxing fight would do the biggest numbers, but wanted to see both fighters in their respective disciplines.

“Jones, maybe he wants a piece of that boxing money. He’s complained about money before. He’s brought out in reference what Wilder was making against Fury, that he felt he deserved because he was putting out the same amount of PPV numbers,” he said.

“You can’t tell me after the McGregors of the world, and he would obviously make more money in the boxing ring against Tyson Fury.

“These are the two-fight deals I want to see. The MMA fighter going into the ring, and the boxer going into the cage. Two-fight deals only. So if Jon Jones goes into the squared circle, Fury goes into the cage.”

Barak Bess saw little hope for Jones in the ring.

He said: “No, he’s not chasing that bread, he’s responded.

“What does anyone say when anyone goes against Fury? He’s too big. He’s skillful, and he’s too big. He has too much skill in a 6’9” frame.

“We’re talking about Jones, one of the best fighters I’ve seen, going from light heavyweight to heavyweight. It just won’t look right in a boxing fight. I don’t think even MMA fans think it will translate to a boxing ring and he bits Fury.

“I don’t think it’s a 100 million dollar fight. I can see Frnacis Ngannou, because he’s got the punching power. I don’t see Jon Jones and Tyson Fury make that much.”
