Could we see Carl Froch face George Groves for a third time?

George Groves has challenged Carl Froch to a third meeting next year on the 10-year anniversary of their Wembley showdown.

Now on good terms, the super-middleweight pair were bitter rivals in their fighting days as they went head-to-head on two occasions with Froch emerging victorious both times.

At the backend of 2013, Froch climbed off the canvas in the opening session to controversially stop Groves in a brutal encounter that caused widespread outrage.

In an immediate rematch, Froch put any doubts to one side as he knocked Groves out before walking away from the sport.

Groves would exit boxing three years later, but he’s willing to step back into the ring if Froch is willing to join him.

“We’ve got a 10-year anniversary of the Froch first fight this year in November,” said Groves when speaking to Genting Casino.

“If we did an exhibition on that anniversary, it would probably get stopped early and controversially, but maybe next year, Wembley Stadium.

“Ten years on, me and Froch will go do battle again, never say never. I'm only 35, believe it or not, I can still roll with the best of them. Who knows? Never say never.”
