Idris Virgos has created something of a storm on social media after posting that he can find ways to defeat Andre Ward.
The crossover star, once a traditional boxer, has enjoyed small successes in both versions of the sport and despite his limited experience, he’s confident that would be able to beat the former two weight world champion.
Ward walked away from boxing in 2017 following a perfect career that saw him defeat a host of quality names including Carl Froch and Sergey Kovalev.
As well as achieving professional success, Ward was also a gold medalist at the 2004 Olympics, but his list of achievements hasn't prevented Virgo from holding a big belief he could emerge victorious against the Oakland man.
“Seen a few of your fights and I see so many ways to beat you. But it will be best if you stay retired wouldn’t want to ruin your legacy,” wrote Virgo on X.
This followed an exchange between the pair where Virgo had posted that he would like to Ward fight on a Misfits Boxing show.
