Dan Hardy has predicted that a potential crossover fight between the undisputed super middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and UFC superstar Conor McGregor would be a one-sided affair.
During the build-up to last week's fight between Katie Taylor and Chantelle Cameron, McGregor was asked about facing Alvarez and responded with "I'd fight Canelo no f—g problem".
If this fight were to come to fruition, this would not be the first time McGregor became involved in crossover fight, having taken on Floyd Mayweather in 2017. While it was a fight which would see McGregor get stopped in the tenth round, it was one of, if not his biggest pay day as a fighter.
A clash with Alvarez would require astronomical numbers to make it happen, but when asked on The DAZN MMA Show about making a prediction for the fight, Dan Hardy was not optimistic when it came to McGregor's chances against the hard-hitting Mexican.
"Canelo being called out by Conor McGregor is absolutely wild," Hardy began.
"I was a few metres from it when he was fighting Mayweather and Mayweather was being nice at points, I feel most people agree with that.
"Canelo is not going to carry Conor McGregor for 10 rounds, Canelo is going to go in there and hurt him."
