Daniel Dubois provides big update on fighting British rival and it's not Anthony Joshua

Dubois is expected back in the ring early next year.

Daniel Dubois is ready to make another defence of his IBF heavyweight title and he has no issue with Fabio Wardley being in the opposite corner.

Speculation emerged earlier this week that Wardley could be in line for a world title shot following his excellent recent form, and Dubois is open to accept that fight.

In September, Dubois caused one of the biggest shocks of 2024 when he dropped Anthony Joshua four times before winning in the fifth round.

The incredible result has set Dubois for further big showdowns, and it had been expected that he would face Joshua in an immediate rematch.

That bout now appears unlikely and numerous contenders such as Wardley, Zhilei Zhang, and Joseph Parker, are some of the leading stars who could face Dubois.

Wardley demonstrated his credentials last month when he stopped Frazer Clarke in one round to put an emphatic full stop on their domestic rivalry.

The Ipswich man has impressed at British level and his breakout fight on the grandest stage could be a major fight against Dubois.

“Bring them all on, all these contenders,” said Dubois when speaking to talkSPORT

“It will be everyone’s decision: my dad’s, the team and Frank Warren to finally get me in there and do the business, but we will all sit down and decide what is next. I can’t wait for it, I’m really excited.”
