Daniel Dubois set to choose Mark Tibbs as trainer after Joe Joyce defeatDAZN
The youngster is freshening up as he continues his recovery from injury and his first professional loss.

Daniel Dubois has removed Martin Bowers from his position as trainer and is due to replace him with Mark Tibbs.

The Daily Mail reports that the 23-year-old heavyweight has decided to make some changes after losing to Joe Joyce in November, a defeat that cost him his unbeaten record. However Bowers will stay on as the fighter’s manager.

In his last match Dubois suffered nerve damage and a broken orbital bone, but he is expected to be ready to fight again in April, with promoter Frank Warren penciling him in for that month or May.

Tibbs is an experienced trainer who also has Billy Joe Sauders in his stable, and will be tasked with rebuilding Dubois’ career. The boxer can't yet spar for another three weeks as he continues his recovery from the injuries he sustained as he lost his British, European and Commonwealth titles.

With Joyce now in discussions with Oleksandr Usyk for the interim WBO belt, and potentially the outright championship, the youngster will be keen to get back up the ranking to earn a world title fight of his own.
