Daniel Dubois trainer picks next opponent for his fighter after Jarrell Miller win

Daniel Dubois trainer picks next opponent for his fighter after Jarrell Miller winDAZN
Daniel Dubois returned to winning ways at the end of 2023.

Daniel Dubois' trainer, Don Charles, has revealed what he believes is the ideal opponent for his fighter in an attempt to earn a second shot at a world title.

Dubois made a statement at the end of last year with a stoppage win over Jarrell Miller and going into 2024, the 26-year-old will look to continue this momentum and face some big names at heavyweight.

Speaking about Dubois' future on talkSPORT, Charles picked WBA 'regular' heavyweight champion Manuel Charr as a possible next contest for the British star.

“I have already mentioned this name, but Manuel Charr is the current holder of the WBA Regular belt, which is the belt that Daniel Dubois had before he fought Usyk," Charles said.

“To my surprise, the WBA took that belt off of Daniel Dubois and awarded it to Manuel Charr, he didn’t actually win it in the ring.

“Obviously, I have got to speak to Frank [Warren], but that is the fight that I would actually like for Daniel, to get that belt back.”

If Dubois does face Charr and beats him, he will once again be in line to challenge for a world heavyweight title.

Dubois' first attempt at world glory came against Oleksandr Usyk in August, but the British star failed to beat the Ukrainian after being on the wrong end of a ninth round stoppage.
