This weekend Daniel Dubois stepped back into the ring for the first time since suffering a serious eye injury in his first professional defeat to fellow Brit Joe Joyce, and looked like his old self with a methodical two-round dissection of Romania's Bogdan Dinu.
The Londoner's fight-winning shot showed 'Dynamite' packed the same explosive punches he always did, but it remains to be seen exactly what effect the painful loss to Joyce will have on his championship aspirations in the long run.
Dubois recruited Shane McGuigan as his new trainer for his return and after the two got their relationship off to a winning start, McGuigan was asked when he expects the young heavyweight to be ready to step back into contenders' fights in search of one day gunning for a world title.
"Give us six months, a year, and he will be knocking on the door of the big boys," McGuigan told the BBC.
"I believe he can beat all of these boys - I've never felt power like him in the pads."
Dubois, meanwhile, was ecstatic to finally get back on the right path on the very same day his younger sister Caroline earned a spot at the Toyko Olympics with success in the qualification bouts.
"It's been a rough ride and I'm glad to be back," he admitted, before declaring his interest in eventually securing a rematch against Joyce in a bid for redemption.
"I need to set it right, [but] whoever they bring up, I'll knock them all down".
