The Matchroom promoter believes Canelo performed well in front of the cameras.

Eddie Hearn thinks that Demetrius Andrade gatecrashing Canelo Alvarez’s post-match press conference will have ultimately benefited the Mexican fighter.

The middleweight champion interrupted the WBA, WBC and WBO super middleweight title holder’s media session to demand a fight.

Hearn has a working relationship with both boxers and has admitted it is difficult for him to find willing opponents for Andrade, but felt the stunt on Saturday was not befitting of the occasion.

Speaking to the DAZN Boxing Show , Hearn said: “I just thought it was the moment to talk about Canelo’s historic win.

“I know that fighters call out fighters. I’d love to see him get a big fight but we were there to talk about the Saunders fight. Everyone knows what Canelo Alvarez wants to do, he wants to become undisputed and fight Caleb Plant .”

The Matchroom promoter explained that Andrade should be focused on the options that may come to him with fighters already in the division.

“Demetrius Andrade is the middleweight champion who needs to be fighting [Jermall] Charlo and unifying the division. Canelo Alvarez is the weight class above.”

However, Hearn thinks that Canelo gave a good showing as he threw a few curse words back to Andrade in response.

“I enjoyed it,” Hearn said. “Demetrius caused some noise but it wasn’t bad for him, and for Canelo it just showed his personality which everyone loved to see.

“People are going to see the true personality of Canelo. He’s funny. I think people like to see it, that clip, it’s gone everywhere.”
