Deontay Wilder was handed an almighty beating at the hands Joseph Parker last month and it has many within the sport wondering what the American will do next.
Wilder entered the bout a huge favourite, but he was unable to make any sort of impact on the contest as Parker took a wide verdict on the judges’ scorecards.
Now linked to a fight with Zhilei Zhang in 2024, it doesn't appear that Wilder is prepared to walk away from the sport just yet.
Despite his name still very much part of a fascinating heavyweight landscape, Dave Allen, a former leading contender at heavyweight, believes Wilder no longer has what it takes to compete at the highest level.
“For me, that’s the end of Wilder, I think he’s done, to be honest,” said Allen when speaking about the former WBC champion to Seconds Out.
“The post-fighting interview, the performance, millions in the bank, I think he’s finished.”
