Errol Spence will defeat Terence Crawford when the welterweight rivals finally come together in Las Vegas on July 29.
That’s the verdict of Deontay Wilder, the former world heavyweight champion who is plotting his next move. The Alabama fighter knows Spence well and he’s backing his man to emerge victorious when the pair clash next month.
Spence vs. Crawford will see boxing crown an undisputed welterweight champion in an intriguing battle that has been simmering since 2017.
The fight has the entire boxing community excited, but they’re also split when deciding the outcome. Wilder has no such concerns on his selection though and he’s certain Spence will get the job done.
“I got to go with Errol Spence on it. Errol is my guy,” said Wilder when speaking about the contest to Fight Hub TV. “I follow my heart in all things, and my heart is with Errol, and his heart is always with me.
“I don’t have anything against anyone else or against Terence. I wish the best for him, but in that fight, I got to go with my guy, Errol Spence.”
