Deontay Wilder has been stopped twice.

Deontay Wilder has faced many big punchers in his career as he’s shared the ring with Tyson Fury, Bermane Stiverne, and Luis Ortiz.

A former WBC champion, Wilder’s only defeats have occurred against Fury, but is the current world ruler the hardest puncher that he’s ever stepped in the ring with? The answer is no.

In 2015, making the second defence of his world title, Wilder welcomed France’s Johann Duhaupas to Alabama and he stopped him in 11 rounds.

Wilder’s power didn’t come into play until later in the fight, and although he was largely dominant in the contest, Wilder has paid tribute to Duhaupas’ punching power.

“I would have to say the Frenchman,” said Wilder when speaking to Talksport as he struggled to remember Duhaupas’ name

“That’s it, it’s Johann Duhaupas. That’s the hardest punch I’ve faced in my career thus far.”
