Deontay Wilder’s next move is still unconfirmed, but the Amercian heavyweight has ruled out a contest against Lawrence Okolie.
The former WBC champion recently endured back-to-back losses against Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang, and some within the boxing community have called for Wilde to retire.
One fighter who is still eager to test himself against Wilder is Okolie and the current WBC bridgerweight champion has made that feeling well known.
Shelly Finkel, the longtime manager of Wilder, has declared that his fighter has no interest in facing the British star.
“Please thank Lawrence Okolie for the offer, but we have no interest in the WBC bridgerweight title,” said Finkel when speaking to World Boxing News.
With Wilder showing no desire to face Okolie, will a decision on what comes next be confirmed soon?
