Former WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has teased that a fight with Anthony Joshua could happen in 2024.
Joshua and Wilder are set to feature on the same bill in Saudi Arabia on December 23 against Otto Wallin and Joseph Parker respectively in an event dubbed 'The Day of Reckoning'.
If the pair were to win both matchups and avoid picking up any major injuries in the process, all roads seem to be leading to what would be one of the biggest fights in the heavyweight division.
A fight between these two hard-hitters has failed to come to fruition in recent years due to disagreements between both camps, but in a post on Instagram with Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn, Wilder wrote that differences had been put aside meaning that a fight with the British star could be on the table for some point next year.
"Damn, this is wilder than Wilder," the American wrote.
"If you know the history then you know what's understood don't have to be explained.
"I will title this picture 'Old Endings For A New Beginning'.
"Finally, the boxing fans will get what they've been waiting YEARS for. The only thing that stands in the way now is Dec 23rd."
Next month's meeting with former WBO world heavyweight champion Parker will be Wilder's first outing since beating Robert Helenius in October 2022.
