Devin Haney and Joseph Diaz have renewed hostilities as they exchanged words on social media on Friday night.
Haney and Diaz have been put forward as potential opponents, with Diaz to face Ryan Garcia in order to become the WBC mandatory challenger to the 22-year-old beltholder.
Garcia has since withdrawn from their November fight due to a wrist injury which will need surgery. Haney has struggled to find an opponent over the past few months and in response to Garcia’s injury said “Let’s make this fight happen Dec. 3rd.”
Diaz replied, saying: “Contact MTK Global, let’s do it,” replied Diaz.
“[Actually] send the contract this time, b—.”
Haney last fought back in May, against Jorge Linares, and while he was pushed hard he secured a win via unanimous decision.
