Devin Haney explains how he will beat Regis PrograisDAZN
The two fighters meet this Saturday, live on DAZN.

Devin Haney believes that Regis Prograis is a “mediocre” fighter with only one strength.

Speaking to DAZN, he gave an interview ahead of his flight this Saturday against Prograis.

Prograis is the WBC super lightweight champion, and the unbeaten Haney has moved up from lightweight in pursuit of another belt after becoming undisputed at 135lbs.

Prograis is a two-time champion at junior welterweight, and brings plenty of experience into the fight in San Francisco, which is shown on DAZN and DAZN PPV (click here for details).

Asked what boxing had taught him in his life, he said: “Boxing has taught me discipline, boxing has taught me everything. It can get you ready for life, because in that ring, one mistake can cost you everything, and it might. It’s very similar to life.”

He added: “I worked hard to get here, I didn’t just come out of nowhere an overnight star. Dedication, discipline, sacrifice to get to this point, ever since I was seven years old. I never tried to cut no corners, I never tried to skip no steps. It’s been a long journey.”

He was then quizzed about Prograis, his next opponent, and he gave his verdict.

He said the 34-year-old was, “A mediocre fighter. He has power, I think when he gets in there with someone on a different level, like me, I’ll embarrass him. I’ll handicap him of his best things, which is only his best power, his left hand, to show him that I’m on a whole different level.”
