Shakur Stevenson became the new WBC lightweight world champion with a unanimous decision win over Edwin De Los Santos on Thursday night, though the Newark, New Jersey product wasn't happy with his performance.
And that was all Devin Haney needed to jab away at his contemporary.
Haney, who challenges Regis Prograis for the WBC junior welterweight title Dec. 9 on DAZN pay-per-view, took to his X account and proceeded to blast Stevenson.
The "10%" Haney is a mocking reduction in reference to the reported 25 percent that Haney's team offered Stevenson for a potential fight in an amount that Stevenson shot down.
Stevenson claimed that Haney offered the amount as a means to avoid fighting him — an assertion that Haney tackled as well.
Regardless of the results of the Prograis-Haney fight next month, Haney and Stevenson can possibly fight for undisputed lightweight glory considering that Stevenson just captured the WBC title and Haney owns the WBA, WBO and IBF straps.
