Devin Haney on George Kambosos' trash talk: 'He’s putting on an act, he’s putting on a facade'DAZN
The trash talk has been intense between unified lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr. and WBC titlist Devin Haney leading into Saturday's undisputed title clash.

Kambosos has called Haney an email champion and “an informant, a rat”, during Monday's kickoff press conference. For his part, Haney let the insults brush off of his shoulders. Why may you ask? Because the 23-year-old isn't buying that Kambosos believes the words coming out of his mouth.

“This is the same George that I’ve always seen. He’s nothing but an actor,” Haney said about Kambosos. “He’s putting on an act. He’s putting on a facade.”

“Just like I acted with Lopez,” Kambosos fired right back at Haney, referencing when he upset Teofimo Lopez two days after Thanksgiving to capture the IBF, WBA (super), and WBO 135-pound belts.

The path to potentially making history and becoming the first-ever four belt lightweight champion hasn't been an easy one for the American. Haney's father Bill and trainer Ben Davison were unable to travel to Australia due to different visa issues. In addition, former IBF lightweight champion, training partner and past Kambosos opponent Mickey Bey was not part of the fight camp because he was preparing for a fight against Tevin Farmer. However, none of that has bothered Haney (27-0, 15 KOs) as he's kept focused and locked in on the ultimate prize that awaits him if "The Dream" gets past Kambosos (20-0, 10 KOs).

“At the end of the day, I take nothing away from him,” Haney said about Kambosos. “I have respect for him, and I look forward to putting on a show for the fans.”
