Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis: World champion trainer predicts winner

Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis: World champion trainer predicts winnerDAZN
Miguel Cotto's trainer thinks one fighter has the edge.

Pedro Diaz believes that Devin Haney can make a small change to his game in order to make sure he beats Regis Prograis.

Haney stepped up from the lightweight division as undisputed champion, and will now challenge WBC super lightweight title holder after struggling with making the weight at 135lbs in recent fights.

Prograis has a single defeat to his name, and Haney remains undefeated. The pair fight live on DAZN on December 9.

The fight has led to speculation over which champion will emerge victorious, but Diaz, who is training Michael Conlan for his own DAZN clash against Jordan Gill on December 2, believes Haney needs to improve his mid and long-range skills to make life easier.

The Mundo Boxing trainer said: “I’ve seen a lot of both of their fights. If Devin Haney works a lot on his mid and long range tactics, he won’t have much of a problem.”

However, Diaz believes that Prograis also has plenty of talent and sees it as an entertaining clash.

He added: “However Regis Prograis is also a really good, complete boxer. It’s going to be a good fight.”
