One of American boxing's most exciting prospects, Diego Pacheco, returns to the ring on Friday night when he takes on Manuel Gallegos in Mexico.
For Pacheco, this is another step up when it comes to his development taking on an opponent with just one loss on his professional record and will be vital in his career development as he slowly makes his way towards a world title shot.

As previously mentioned, Diego Pacheco is an exciting talent to watch and his first fight of 2023 backs this up.
Coming against Jack Cullen, Pacheco showed great patience as he scouted out his opponent before landing the final knockout blow in the fourth round.
Now he comes up against Manuel Gallegos who is a durable operator and is someone who does have punching power as shown by the 16 knockout wins on his record.
Friday's fight should be an entertaining affair, and I expect Pacheco to adopt a similar strategy to the Cullen fight, but don't expect such a quick stoppage.
Mexican fighters have shown that they are not afraid to go toe-to-toe in the middle of the ring, but the fact that Gallegos is someone who rarely gets past the fourth round, may allow Pacheco to go about his work at a smooth pace and wait for his opponent to tire in the latter stages.
