The interim champion challenged the WBC outright title holder.

WBC interim champion Dillian Whyte has accused the governing body’s full title holder Tyson Fury of twice ducking a fight with him.

Whyte was the WBC interim belt holder for 1,000 days before losing to Russian challenger Alexander Povetkin in August last year. He won the belt back in a rematch two weekends ago, and looks set to fight in America ahead of any potential title clash.

Fury meanwhile looks set to finally put his belt on the line after agreeing a two-fight deal with four-belt rival Anthony Joshua.

Joshua’s WBO mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk now has to fight Joe Joyce in an eliminator, meaning there is no obvious candidate yet to fight the winner of Fury vs. Joshua.

Fury posted a Twitter message goading Joshua, Usyk, Whyte and Deontay Wilder, and Fury responded by claiming that the heavyweight champion had twice skipped out of a proposed fight.

Whyte responded by calling Fury a 'coward', but has yet to receive a response.
