Ahead of his big rematch with Alexander Povetkin, Dillian Whyte discusses the planned heavyweight unification clash.

Dillian Whyte has largely been all-business during fight week for his rematch with Alexander Povetkin, a fight that can watched live on DAZN in multiple regions.

Their heavyweight encounter last August at Matchroom’s Fight Camp was dominated by Whyte in the fight’s early going but a left uppercut from the veteran Russian was all that was needed as he caused a stunning upset. On Saturday night, the heavy-handed pair do it all over again.

Taking time away from his preparations this week, Whyte was a guest on The Ak and Barak Show, a series exclusive to DAZN and Sirius XM Fight Nation, and as well as talking about his upcoming fight with Povetkin, the British heavyweight was pushed on a variety of subjects.

An issue that came up was the victor in the proposed Anthony Joshua/Tyson Fury fight that is still in negotiation. Whyte was candid with his verdict.

“There’s a case for both guys winning this fight,” revealed Whyte. “Both guys showed a lot of versatility in their last two fights.

"The two fights with [Andy] Ruiz and the two fights with [Deontay] Wilder, it’s the same guy but they’re showing different styles and different ways of getting the victory.

“Joshua had a loss against Ruiz and Fury had a draw against Wilder. Then Fury came off the backfoot and was aggressive and knocked Wilder out then Joshua came off the front foot and got on the backfoot and got a points decision. It’s hard. I don’t think any boxing purist can say ‘this guy is going to win because of this.’ It’s very difficult to say who’s going to win.”
