D'Mitrius Ballard is sounding and looking very relaxed ahead of his clash with the undefeated, hard-hitting Mexican middleweight Jaime Munguia.
That's certainly the impression the 28-year-old was giving when speaking exclusively to The DAZN Boxing Show.
"I don’t necessarily think this is an easy fight," Ballard said when asked about why he has been wanting to fight Munguia.
But while Ballard is considered a huge underdog for the clash in Tijuana, Mexico, it's a role he's used to and is looking forward to proving the majority of fight fans wrong come Saturday night.
"The underdog thing doesn’t really bother me," Ballard stated.
"I can remember if it was school, football, basketball, life, I’ve always been the underdog.
"People never really pay attention to me and I just prove people wrong, in the pros I feel like I do the same thing.
"I feel like on February 19th Jaime Munguia is the perfect opponent for me to showcase all the skills I have, all the grit, all the will, and show how special a fighter I really am."
