Dmitry Bivol: For a second, I thought I had lost against Saul 'Canelo' AlvarezDAZN
The unbeaten champion received a late scare, he told the DAZN Boxing Show

Dmitry Bivol confessed that he thought he had lost his fight against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez at the weekend.

Instead, the undefeated WBA light heavyweight champion won the fight in order to retain his belt, and given the compelling nature of his win he might even be considered for the proposed rematch.

His victory came by a unanimous decision but the narrow nature of the scores had Bivol worried that he was the victim of a surprise judges’ decision.

Speaking to the DAZN Boxing Show, he admitted that he had suffered fright before the announcement confirmed his win.

“When I heard 115-113, all judges, for one second I thought maybe it’s not my day today,” he said.

“When I heard, ‘And still’... they made the right decision!”
