Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez returns to the ring on Saturday when he takes on Dmitry Bivol for the WBA world light heavyweight title in Las Vegas live on DAZN.
It's no surprise that in the run-up to the fight Canelo is being billed as a heavy favourite, but Bivol will pose a number of challenges for the Mexican.
Speaking to The DAZN Boxing Show at Madison Square Garden, combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani believes the likes of Kamaru Usman calling out Canelo for a fight is being disrespectul towards Bivol who could produce a huge upset at the T-Mobile Arena.
"He’s [Bivol] being disrespected," Helwani claimed.
"In the sport of MMA, you have Kamaru Usman who is the number one pound-for-pound fighter in mixed martial arts, he’s calling Canelo out, he’s tugging at his coat-tails unlike what’s happening with Fury and [Francis] Ngannou where Fury is taking Ngannou in.
"Usman is trying to get his attention, he’s disrespecting Bivol, I think a lot of people are disrespecting Bivol.
"This guy’s tough, he’s game.
"Ultimately, am I picking him to win? No, I think Canelo wins, and I think he wins via stoppage, just because he’s not a household name doesn’t mean that he’s a bum."
