Dmitry Bivol is not thinking about Canelo Alvarez as he prepares to defend his world title against Gilberto Ramirez next month.
Earlier this year, Canelo made another leap to 175lbs, but his bold attempt at adding another impressive win to his incredible ledger was thwarted by Bivol who outpointed the Mexican.
On November 5, live on DAZN, Bivol looks to build on his impressive year as he tackles the threat of Ramirez, a fighter who has been calling for this opportunity for a long time.
If successful, talk will instantly intensify regarding a Canelo rematch, but for Bivol, he insists that he will seek the best opportunity for him that will push his career forward.
“He wants a rematch. It’s not a surprise to me because he’s a champion,” said Bivol when discussing Canelo to Fight Hub.
“It’s okay for him that he wants revenge. Of course, the better way for me is to move forward, move up. We can talk about a rematch, but it’s not interesting to me like it was before.”
