Does Anthony Joshua have the most to lose in 2022?DAZN
The DAZN Boxing Show discussed whether the former unified world heavyweight champion's career hanged in the balance.

Anthony Joshua is at a crossroads in his boxing career.

After recording his second loss as a professional to Oleksandr Usyk last September, there are some doubts about the former WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight champion's boxing ability.

With a rematch supposedly in the works for April, it is simply a 'must win' for Joshua who is desperate to prove that he is still a top heavyweight contender.

This has led to Adam Catterall, one half of the Fight Disciples, believing that the Olympic gold medalist has the most to lose in 2022.

"I just think Anthony Joshua’s got so much to lose this year. His rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, if indeed they make that fight, is absolutely massive for his future," Catterall stated on the latest instalment of JABS

"He has to win that fight; a loss and he’s done in this division."

Nick Peet on the other hand disagreed with his partner's views. He stated that Joshua is still the biggest name in the heavyweight division and even if he does lose to Usyk for a second time, there are still some great fights to be made.

"I don’t agree just because I still think he’s the biggest name in the heavyweight division. I think he still puts more bums on seats than anything else," Peet said.

"I think he’s being forced into the Usyk rematch; I personally wouldn’t go down that road.

"Even if he was to lose to Usyk, I still think there’s big fights with [Deontay] Wilder, big fights with Dillian Whyte, big fights with other heavyweights certainly coming through, maybe even Joe Joyce back in the UK.

"I’m not writing anybody off because of a loss or two, let’s be honest, the losses often define the greatest champions and how they bounce back."
