For Jake Paul and Tommy Fury, their fight on Sunday in Saudi Arabia is personal.
After numerous verbal exchanges and two cancellations, the pair will finally meet in the ring, but as well as personal pride, there is also a chance to kickstart their respective professional boxing careers with a win.
This is because the WBC has offered a place in their top 40 rankings at cruiserweight which could be the start of a world title push.
But if Paul is victorious on Sunday, does he deserve a world ranking despite having just six professional fights on his record?
DAZN Boxing analyst Sergio Mora said the following on JABS.
"I’m not going to give Jake Paul credit until he faces a real fighter, and he is facing one this weekend. So, I’m going to judge him off that performance," Mora said.
"If he does well, then I’m going to start giving him some credit.
"What the WBC is doing, they are just playing politics and I’m pretty sure all the other governing bodies are going to do the same."
Chris Mannix meanwhile had some sympathy for Paul who despite sending shockwaves through the sport of boxing, has not been begging to be given a world ranking by one of the four major sanctioning bodies.
"I am an unabashed supporter of Jake Paul, what he’s done in boxing has been overall good for boxing, I think what he’s done for other fighters has been great for them whether it has been Amanda Serrano or Montana Love," Mannix began before making criticisms of the current state of sanctioning bodies.
"Jake Paul never asked for the WBC to give him a ranking so my issue is with the sanctioning body WBC.
"I have a deep distain for most sanctioning bodies and what they do because they do stuff like this.
"They are willing to give a world ranking to a fighter who if he wins this weekend, will have one win against a fighter with a real boxing resume, that’s not who you give world rankings to."
