Jake Paul has won admiration from Eddie Hearn for agreeing to step in the ring with Hasim Rahman Jr.
In his short boxing career, Paul has built his ledger by facing stars from other sports, with Rahman representing his first test against an actual professional boxer.
Initially set to face Tommy Fury on August 6, that event was dealt a huge blow when it emerged that the younger brother of Tyson was unable to enter America.
Immediately, Paul began a search for a new opponent, and fans were pleasantly surprised when Rahman was revealed to be the man in the opposite corner next month. Hearn is amongst the people impressed with the boldness shown by Paul.
“Let’s put into perspective so we can give Jake Paul credit. At this stage in Jake Paul’s career, this is an impressive fight to take,” said Hearn when speaking to The DAZN Boxing Show.
“I give him respect for that, and I think there’s a bit of Jake Paul that wants to prove people wrong. That can be dangerous because you can think you’re better than what you are. It’s a dangerous fight, but I still think that he’s good for the game.”
